Robert Half Medical Payment Poster Specialist in Dallas, Texas
Description We are offering a contract opportunity for a Medical Payment Poster Specialist in the Healthcare industry, located in Dallas, Texas. As a Medical Payment Poster Specialist, you will be responsible for various duties including patient account management, remittance report downloads, and maintaining patient information confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately post payments received to the respective patient accounts
• Download remittance reports and assign payments to corresponding charges on patient accounts
• Import daily files and extract remittances from designated websites such as Easy Print
• Post all zero pay remittances with the appropriate denial/reason code
• Ensure that received payments adhere to contract reimbursement terms
• Apply relevant contractual transactions relative to the contract and/or penalty application
• Initiate contact with system vendor and file a case when a system issue is identified
• Extract daily deposits from the bank to verify the availability of funds
• Regularly update the Director of Business Services and the Billing Manager about daily cash to be posted
• Verify the accuracy of the daily deposit worksheet and ensure it matches the daily posting
• Ensure the balance of daily downloads before proceeding to the next download
• Scan all Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and denials into the VSDM on a daily basis
• Maintain the neatness of the work area and ensure patient information security in compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Health Information and Portability Act (HIPAA)
• Collaborate with the Manager and Compliance Committee to ensure adherence to the Compliance Program
• Carry out other duties as assigned or requested. Requirements • Proficiency in EMR - Electronic Medical Records
• Experience as a Medical Payment Poster
• Knowledge of Outpatient Coding
• Familiarity with Patient Accounting procedures
• Ability to manage Patient Appointments
• Experience in Patient Billing
• Understanding of Patient Balance management
• Knowledge of EOB - Explanation of Benefits
• Ability to handle Import Export tasks
• Experience with Electronic Remittance
• Familiarity with Remittance processes
• Understanding of Remittance Advice procedures
• Compliance with HIPAA - Patient Privacy Rule
• Experience in HIPAA Compliance - System Implementation
• Knowledge of HIPAA-Regulated environment
• Proficiency in CPT 4 procedures
• Familiarity with CPT Codes
• Knowledge of CPT Hcpcs Codes
• Understanding of ICD CPT procedures
• Experience with ICD-9 CPT-4
• Knowledge of ICDM CPT procedures
• Familiarity with ICD-10 procedures
