The Senior Accountant is responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Expert analytical skills are essential to succeeding in this job. This position is full time with excellent compensation and benefits, as well as the chance to grow. This Senior Accountant role is located in Dallas, Texas within the Real Estate & Property field.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

  • Engage in various department-wide initiatives

  • Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

  • Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. Requirements - Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Able to manage time well

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

  • Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

  • High attention to detail

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
