Robert Half Project Accountant in Dallas, Texas

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Project Accountant in the construction and contractor industry, based in Dallas, Texas. This role primarily involves maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee project accounting to ensure accurate financial updates and reports.

• Conduct month-end close procedures and ensure all journal entries are recorded accurately.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to maintain the cash flow and ensure all financial obligations are met.

• Handle billing tasks, including creating invoices and credit memos, issuing reimbursements, checking customer credit references, and maintaining contact with customers to ensure timely payments.

• Process payroll accurately and on time.

• Utilize accounting software systems effectively for data entry and management.

• Ensure compliance with CapEx and Costpoint standards in all financial transactions.

• Utilize Deltek and Deltek Vision tools for project and business accounting functions.

• Perform various duties as assigned, ensuring all tasks are completed within the specified deadline and meet the required standards.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, CapEx, Costpoint, Deltek, Deltek Vision.

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Billing Functions, Budget Processes.

• Familiarity with construction industry accounting standards and practices. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Knowledge of Billing Functions

• Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Detail-oriented and highly organized

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
