Description

Robert Half Finance and Accounting has teamed up with a multi-billion dollar (assets under management) investment firm to recruit for an Investment Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Accounting and Reporting for Development and Operating Real Estate Investment Projects:

o Monthly review of general ledger for accuracy and completeness in accordance with GAAP including posting reclassifications and accruals as necessary;

o Prepare and/or review monthly reporting;

o Prepare monthly loan interest wire transfers;

o Prepare monthly capital calls or distributions to joint venture partners.

• Assist in preparation and/or review of annual GAAP Budgets with cashflows

• Acquisition/Disposition Accounting:

o Pre-sale due diligence requests, Record purchase/sale transaction in accordance with GAAP;

o Calculate final distribution waterfalls (including IRR calcs) if sale, inform legal when entity can shut down and/or transition newly acquired properties into accounting workflow including coordination of opening new bank account and first year budget.

• Supervise Senior Real Estate Accountants

o Review financial statements prepared by Senior Accountants before posting.

• Special projects assigned by Senior Management.

Education and Experience:

• Degree in Accounting, CPA

• Commercial/Industrial Real Estate accounting experience (5+ years)

• Management Experience (3+ years) preferred, not required

Requirements

  • Recent relevant financial experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of analysis

  • Solid technology and analytical abilities

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • Customer service oriented communication skills

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently
