Description

Robert Half Finance and Accounting has partnered with a cement manufacturing company looking to fill a Regional Logistics Manager. The Regional Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of logistics operations within their assigned region. This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize logistics operations and enhance efficiency within the region.

  • Manage and coordinate transportation activities, including the scheduling of shipments, route optimization, and carrier management, to ensure timely delivery of materials to customers.

  • Oversee the warehousing and distribution network to optimize inventory levels and minimize holding costs while ensuring adequate stock availability.

  • Collaborate with sales, production, and procurement teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to meet customer requirements.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance of logistics operations and identify areas for improvement.

  • Implement best practices in logistics management, including cost optimization, compliance with regulations, and adherence to safety standards.

  • Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to drive continuous improvement.

  • Develop strong relationships with transportation partners, suppliers, and other external stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics operations and resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting logistics operations and implement relevant strategies to maintain competitiveness.

  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to communicate the performance of logistics operations and recommend strategies for improvement.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (10 years) in logistics management, preferably in the cement or construction materials industry, with a track record of successfully managing regional logistics operations.

  • Strong understanding of transportation, warehousing, and distribution principles, as well as familiarity with logistics software and systems.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize logistics operations.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to logistics operations, safety, and environmental compliance.

  • Flexibility to travel 50-75% within the assigned region.
