Senior Accountant

Position Overview: This position works under the general supervision of the Controller for the firm. The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Post monthly accruals to the general ledger Upload payroll to the general ledger Fixed Assets Maintain all fixed asset records including the review of all detail oriented services and new asset purchases for items which should be capitalized rather than expensed or vice versa Create monthly depreciation reports and post to the general ledger Prepare annual personal property tax filings for all jurisdictions Maintain/Update schedule of annual book-tax differences Prepare all asset documentation for the annual audit and tax returns Prepare annual depreciation budget Prepare monthly reconciliations of the liability accounts Perform all bookkeeping for the Algiers Office based on their monthly provision Prepare monthly global financial statements Prepares/distribute monthly general ledger detail reports to budget owners and answer questions regarding same Prepare quarterly debt covenant filings for the Controller’s review Assist with expense report policy compliance Serve as backup for certain daily reports and functions Perform tax research and analysis regarding potential state tax nexus Participate as a team member during an accounting system conversion Perform ad hoc reporting and projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience. Must have extremely strong Excel and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with Elite Enterprise or 3E a plus. Experience with SAGE fixed assets a plus.   • 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

  • Solid understanding of analytics

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Proficient in ERP systems

  • Skilled at time management

  • SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
