Robert Half Senior Cost Analyst in Dallas, Texas

Description Robert Half Finance is seeking a candidate with a thorough understanding of finance and strong communication skills for a Financial Analyst role. An innovative company is seeking applicants to join their growing team. This job consists of conducting financial modeling on various financial products as well as measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives, and preparing reports for management. This Financial Analyst role, which is a full-time employment opportunity, is located in the Dallas, Texas. A candidate who's highly-skilled in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management is wanted by an innovative team as a key business partner.

Major responsibilities

  • Keep track of monthly and quarterly performance by comparing actuals versus expectations and enabling business partners to handle their resources

  • Have a thorough understanding of internal and external drivers and be able to explain how they are impacting performance and trending

  • Work alongside cross-functional partners in Accounting and Operations to see the proper execution of plans

  • An ideal candidate should be highly flexible, comfortable with large amounts of information, and adept at managing expectations

  • Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, strategic resource allocation and prioritization, and event tracking and execution

  • Deliver effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide valuable foresight and decision support

  • Survey performance to date and assess potential opportunities and risks

  • Lead monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required

  • Produce and monitor forecasting reports

  • Work on monthly and quarterly financial close processes in collaboration with the Accounting team

  • Drive P& L forecasting and Area/Segment-level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis Requirements - Cert Public Accountant - CPA (US) required

  • Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Certified Public Accountant - CPA (US)

  • 5+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence (BI)

  • Proficiency in cost accounting

  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL

  • Practical knowledge of Ad Hoc Analysis

  • Comprehension of Pivot Table

  • Good understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

  • QuickBooks experience

  • Previous experience working with payroll

  • Adeptness in financial auditing

  • Earlier work involving Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Financial Forecast experience highly preferred

  • Experience with analysis

  • General familiarity with Balance Sheets

  • Financial Statement experience

  • SSRS experience highly valued

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial reconciliation

  • Background working with budgeting

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company

  • Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferential)

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)

  • Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required

  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
