Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Dallas, Texas

Description Robert Half Finance is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a desire to join a reputable company in the Energy/Natural Resources industry. You will use your knowledge and skills to prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, build budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and manage internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates should enjoy analytical tasks, challenges, and fast-paced environments. This Senior Accountant role is located in Dallas, Texas within the Energy/Natural Resources field. The person in this role will be well compensated and offered a benefits package and the opportunity for advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes

  • Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner

  • Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

  • Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

  • Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations Requirements - Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Skilled at time management

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • ERP system experience

  • 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
