Description If you are skilled in hospitality accounting/finance, we are hiring for a fantastic Asst. Director of Finance with a very high-end hotel concept in Dallas. Skills in multi-entity hotel/hospitality is required as well as NetSuite software and ownership of the accounting/finance process for a hotel.
Job Functions Maintain harmonious and detail oriented relationship with all departments and Home Office. Assist Director of Finance with maintaining the effectiveness of internal controls to safeguard the assets and resources of the hotel. Actively support other department managers with matters dealing with labor standards, payroll, Tax reconciliation and other issues that may arise. Direct and supervise the efforts, quality, and timeliness of all aspects of payroll, accounts payable, and general cashiering or other areas as directed by the Director of Finance. Collects all paperwork for all revenues and ensuring accuracy and compliance with the policies and procedures. Ensures that all revenues have been captured, recorded, and posted accurately. Monitors and records all in-house charges and verifying compliance with the established policies and procedures. Checks all credits, voids, and complementary postings. Any discrepancies must be recorded and reported. Reviews Travel Agent Commissions and checking for manual postings or edits. Balance the income with the respective ledger balances (Guest Ledger, City Ledger, and Deposit Ledger). Monitors and reports any suspicious or incorrect postings. Performs spot checks daily and alternating between the areas checked. Verifies all payment methods are accurate and all data has been transferred and posted fully. Participate and/or conduct the monthly credit meetings. Review with the Director of Finance all accounts which are over 30 days and implement collection procedures for all such accounts in accordance with established corporate guidelines. Assist with the development of the Finance Department staff to aid the future growth of the company. Good understanding of Month-End Process, including but not limited to preparation of financial statements, accruals and journal entries, maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Assist the department heads and the Director of Finance in preparation of all budgets and forecasts. Prepare and coordinate the monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and all bank reconciliations, ensuring all outstanding reconciling items are investigated and resolved satisfactorily. Perform all daily, monthly, and other periodic accounting and financial reporting in an accurate and timely nature. Participate in the physical inventory counts and the subsequent accuracy of count, price, and valuation. Preferred knowledge Opera (PMS), Micros (POS), Oracle NetSuite Understand the current Edition of USALI.
