Description Do you have an accounting background and a desire to join a Energy/Natural Resources firm? Robert Half could have the Senior Accountant role for you! You will use your knowledge and skills to prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, build budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and manage internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position requires top-notch analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This Senior Accountant role is based in Dallas, Texas with a company in the Energy/Natural Resources field. How you will make an impact
Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner Requirements - Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Must have excellent time management skills
Great attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Proficient in ERP systems
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Experience in SOX control execution/documentation
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
