Robert Half International Staff Accountant in Dallas, Texas
Description There is a terrific full-time position available for an experienced Staff Accountant at Robert Half Finance. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Responsibilities
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting Requirements - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Strong attention to detail
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficient in ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
