Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a leading biotechnology firm on a 25 hr/wk basis. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in NetSuite and a strong background in accounts payable processes. As an AP Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts payable functions and ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
Key Responsibilities:
Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently in NetSuite.
Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies.
Obtain proper approvals for invoice payments and ensure adherence to payment terms.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Coordinate with internal departments to obtain necessary documentation for invoice processing.
Prepare and process electronic payments, including ACH transfers and wire transfers.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records in NetSuite, including contact information, payment terms, and banking details.
Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
Assist with ad hoc projects and provide support to the finance team as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment.
Proficiency in NetSuite is required.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and best practices.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Experience with 1099 reporting is a plus.
