About:
Our client is a reputable company based in Danbury, CT,. Their small, close-knit office of three team members values teamwork and reliability. We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist to join team as we prepare for the retirement of our current employee, who will be available to provide cross-training for a seamless transition.
Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist will be responsible for handling payroll for 30 employees, processing a high volume of invoices (50-100 weekly), and manually cutting checks using a homegrown system. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional comfortable working with manual systems and who enjoys a steady, hands-on work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
Process between 50-100 invoices per week, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
Manually cut checks as needed using a custom system.
Maintain organized records of vendor payments and promptly resolve discrepancies.
Payroll Processing:
Process payroll accurately for 30 employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and manage related records.
General Accounting and Office Support:
Assist with additional administrative and financial tasks as needed within a small office setting.
Provide backup support for other functions in the office, contributing to a collaborative workflow.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience in accounts payable and payroll processing, ideally in a small office or hands-on environment.
Proficiency with manual check processing and familiarity with non-standardized, homegrown systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
Ability to work independently in a small, team-oriented office.
Bilingual Spanish
