Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Danvers, Massachusetts

Description You will succeed in this Full Charge Bookkeeper position if you have a background in accounting and you're interested in taking on a challenging role with opportunity for advancement. Robert Half is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to prepare and process financial statements and accounts and manage all general accounting and bookkeeping essential functions. Candidates with excellent organizational skills, strong communication tactics, and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines will be best fit for this position. Based in Danvers, Massachusetts, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a long-term contract / contract to permanent opportunity.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management

  • Overseeing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

  • Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows

  • Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner

  • Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

  • Maintaining historical records by filing documents Requirements - Bank reconciliations experience

  • Month end closings experience highly desired

  • Process Payroll experience preferred

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

  • Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)

  • A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting

    • Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree experience desired
  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight

  • Background in payroll preferred

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • Highly organized and self-motivated

  • High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

  • Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

  • 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field
