Robert Half is seeking candidates in the Non-Profit industry for a charismatic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist role with a client. Provide customer service over the phone and in-person in this Medical Receptionist role as the director of first impressions. Major responsibilities

  • Making appointments, collecting co-pays, and providing receipt of money in accordance with established procedures

  • Rendering assistance in the management of patient medical records

  • Ensuring the waiting and reception areas are kept neat and clean; reporting on any damage

  • Acting as a liaison with patients and providers in a compassionate and kind manner

  • Managing various files and providing general office duties, e.g. data entry, scanning, faxing, etc.

  • Responsible for insurance verifications with health insurance organizations

  • Helping with patient's paperwork occasionally

  • Reacting to phone calls in an efficient manner as to maintain the minimum number of rings, as well as, directing inquiries in a detail-oriented and effective manner

  • Admitting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries


  • High School Diploma required, A.S. Degree in healthcare/related field preferred

  • Experience with multi-line phone systems preferred

  • Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

  • Knowledgeable of medical terminology and insurance products and plans

  • 1+ year of experience as a Medical Receptionist

    • In this position, you should have experience with insurance billing and an electronic medical record system, as well as social media platforms
  • Excellent phone etiquette and ability to establish rapport with diverse clientele

  • Customer service experience

  • Well-founded grasp of Patient Check-in

  • Proven knowledge of Patient Calls

  • Quality experience with Scanning Documents

  • Foundational knowledge in Patient Medical Records

  • Practical knowledge of scanning

  • General familiarity with Scheduling Patient Appointments
