Summary:

The VP, Finance and Accounting will report to the CEO and a Board of Advisors Audit Committee. The VP will provide operational and collaborative strategic direction within matrixed environment to LION’s accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, risk, tax and statutory reporting. Oversighting a staff of approximately 25; including key members in accounting, Business unit Finance Directors, treasury, and consolidated reporting functions.

Leadership Responsibility:

  • Serve as a key member of the LION leadership team, helping to drive strategic initiatives across all functional areas.

  • Lead with a highly operational roll up your sleeves approach – creating solid relationships across the organization and a sought after for expert counsel.

  • Assess, structure and develop a compelling and diverse team of financial contributors and leaders; looking ahead to the needs of the finance team to meet business needs.

  • Collaborate to create financial process and controls; anticipating business issues and drive solid decision-making through sound financial management.

  • Understand current and future liquidity needs to support operating businesses.

  • Responsible for Risk management that includes financial, contractual, and property risk management.

  • Owns annual budgeting process and update throughout the year for departmental and strategic changes

  • Work with other functions to drive process improvements and Oracle system enhancements

  • Supports M& A efforts through leading fiscal due diligence, analysis, statement preparation and integration.

  • Increase ownership of monthly financial results through education and analysis

  • Oversight and evaluation of overhead costs and potential savings

  • Enhance KPI/metric tracking and provide actionable coaching insights to improve company performance

  • Develop and maintain GAAP compliant accounting policies and procedures

  • Monthly bank covenant calculations

  • Ensure successful completion of the company’s external tax filings

  • Manage federal and state tax credit program

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • CPA or MBA and Oracle knowledge is preferred

  • Experience in a global manufacturing/distribution industry REQUIRED

  • Minimum 10 years of accounting or finance experience, public or private

  • Proven ability to guide, coach, develop, and motivate a global finance team

  • Ability to handle changing priorities and interruptions while maintaining focus on tasks and producing accurate work

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
