We are in the market for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join a non-profit located in Daytona Beach, Florida. This role will primarily revolve around overseeing accounting operations, leading the accounting staff, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and non-profit regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

• Supervise the processes of accounts payable and receivable.

• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Conduct a review of month-end journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other balance sheet reconciliations.

• Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Oversee the distribution of departmental financial reports on a monthly basis.

• Ensure funding is in place for payroll, accounts payable, and other cash needs.

• Maintain positive working relationships with program offices.

• Conduct monthly review of accounts receivable aging.

• Ensure all grant reporting is done timely and accurately.

• Annually review and update Accounting Policies and procedures as needed.

• Collaborate with CFO to conduct in-depth financial analysis to assess the organization's performance and identify trends.

• Assist CFO in Budgeting and Forecasting.

• Coordinate financial audits and work with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must hold a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting managerial or supervisory role is essential.

• Proficient in Fund Accounting with a focus on Non-Profit organizations.

• Demonstrable experience in Grant Accounting is mandatory.

• Must be skilled in executing Month End Close procedures.

• Experience in developing and managing Annual Budgets is required.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.

• A professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Must adhere to high ethical standards and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
