Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Daytona Beach, Florida
Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the construction and contractor industry, located in Daytona Beach, Florida. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity and involves maintaining payable information, assisting in invoicing functions, and working with vendors to ensure smooth financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the maintenance of petty cash accounts and record all outgoing disbursements.
• Monitor vendor payment agreements to identify potential discounts that can be used to reduce invoice amounts.
• Ensure all sales tax on appropriate invoices are paid and recorded.
• Keep track of credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments.
• Reconcile payable reports each month to confirm that all amounts paid were accurate.
• Analyze expense reports to assign payments to the appropriate cost centers.
• Work with vendors to resolve past due invoices and reconcile monthly statements.
• Maintain current accounts and assist in invoicing functions.
• Manage customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and related software
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong data entry skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Familiarity with construction/contractor industry is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent required, higher education in Finance, Accounting or related field is a plus
