Robert Half Payroll Clerk in Daytona Beach, Florida

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in the Healthcare/NHS industry. This role is based in Daytona Beach, Florida and will play a crucial part in the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all hospital staff.

Responsibilities:

• Handle bi-weekly or monthly payroll for hospital staff, ensuring payments are processed accurately and efficiently

• Review and verify timekeeping records for employees, guaranteeing correct entries for hours worked, paid time off, and overtime

• Enter payroll information into the system and perform regular audits to identify discrepancies or errors

• Calculate and process deductions such as taxes, retirement contributions, and healthcare benefits, coordinating with HR for updates

• Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations, ensuring the hospital’s payroll process complies with all laws

• Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries, clarifying discrepancies and providing relevant documentation

• Generate payroll-related reports for internal audits, finance, and HR, and provide necessary data for tax filings

• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure all documentation is up to date for compliance and audit purposes

• Assist with payroll tax filings, W-2s, and other year-end processes. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a payroll clerk position or similar role within the healthcare industry.

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, and ADP Workforce Now.

• Experience with Ceridian, Dayforce, and About Time systems.

• Strong understanding and experience with Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP).

• Knowledge and experience in auditing, benefit functions, and payroll.

• Proficient in data entry and high-volume data entry tasks.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to multitask.

• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Demonstrable problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing situations.

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
