Robert Half Director, Finance & Accounting- Affordable Housing (On-site) in Dedham, Massachusetts
Description
Our client, a premier company in the Senior Care field, is seeking a Director of Finance. The Director of Finance is a key member of the leadership team, playing a critical role in supporting strategic decisions related to finance and operations across the organization’s housing sites. This position collaborates closely with the CFO, COO, Executive Directors, and senior finance leaders, while also participating in presentations to various committees and boards. Additionally, the Director of Finance oversees all financial activities, including accounting, reporting, and supervision of the finance staff, while contributing to the overall senior management efforts at multiple housing locations.
Core Competencies:
Oversee the management of accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Establish and maintain internal controls and safeguards for revenue receipts, budgets, and actual expenditures.
Maximize organizational performance by leveraging the strengths of the finance team, clarifying roles, and implementing new processes to reach optimal goals.
Financial:
-Analyze and present financial data and monthly results, ensuring senior leadership is informed of any relevant issues.
Lead the annual budgeting and planning process with department heads, reviewing financial plans and comparing actual results with budget to address any variances.
Oversee cash flow management and maintain the financial health of housing sites.
Manage and supervise finance staff, ensuring accuracy in financial system entries.
Foster cross-training and develop a cohesive, collaborative finance team across multiple sites.
Coordinate audits, preparing necessary schedules and reports.
Serve as a primary or secondary contact for site-specific claims review and processing.
Manage escrow accounts, ensuring deposits are sufficient and initiating draws when needed.
Collaborate with controllers to consolidate organizational financial structures.
Compliance:
Establish, monitor, and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance.
Respond to regulatory audits and reviews, such as those from oversight agencies.
Submit annual budgets and financial reports to regulatory bodies, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Track and report on capital needs, ensuring alignment with assessments and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with regulatory bodies for the release of funds from reserve accounts and other financial requests.
Maintain compliance with all relevant financial regulations by working closely with governing agencies.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
7-10+ years of relevant experience
Strong Managerial experience
CPA license preferred.
Experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Must have low housing experience, preferably with HUD housing.
Experience managing staff across different campuses preferred.
Strong computer skills required.

Job Title: Director of Finance Location:
Requires traveling among three locations across MA, North of Boston, South of Boston and Metro West.
Salary: Dependent on competency level - $100K - $170K Depending on experience
