Robert Half Bookkeeper in Dekalb, Illinois

Description We are inviting applications for the position of Bookkeeper in our team. Situated in DEKALB, Illinois, this role is pivotal in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The Bookkeeper's responsibilities will involve working closely with our financial team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular ledger entries and bookkeeping tasks

• Handle accounts payable and receivable

• Perform account reconciliations, including reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns

• Maintain and update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed

• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports

• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines

• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and reports

• Assist with the preparation of monthly/yearly closings

• Aid in the preparation of budget forecasts. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping role

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary

• Strong bookkeeping skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in data entry tasks

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in performing Month End Close tasks

• Experience in handling payroll

• Proficiency in QuickBooks software is required

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred.
