Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented In House Counsel to join our team in Delray Beach, Florida. In this role, you will provide legal advice, facilitate real estate transactions, and handle contract negotiations. This role is fundamental to our operations and requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of legal principles and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and recommendations in the best interest of the organization

• Handle the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of real estate properties

• Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts, leases, bid documents, and interlocal agreements

• Draft and review resolutions related to board agenda items

• Respond to public records requests in a timely and professional manner

• Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda, and present findings to the relevant teams

• Advise on legal matters including Public Records Law, ethics, Sunshine Law, and other relevant topics

• Interpret federal, state, and local laws pertaining to contracts, real estate transactions, local public agencies, construction, land use and development, and lending

• Use legal software to manage and organize work effectively

• Conduct audits and maintain accurate documentation of all legal procedures and contracts.

Requirements • Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

• Active license to practice law in the state

• Minimum of one year of experience as a practicing attorney

• Proficiency in 3M, Adobe Acrobat, and HRMS

• Familiarity with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS)

• Experience with legal software for case management

• Proven skills in auditing and claim administration

• Demonstrated ability to handle documentation tasks efficiently

• Experience in drafting legal contracts

• Knowledge of law regulations and government contracts

• Proven ability to administer legal contracts

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High degree of professional ethics and integrity

• Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
