Robert Half Project Cost Accountant in Delta, Ohio

Description

We are offering a unique opportunity with a manufacturer based in Delta, Ohio. The role is a Project Cost Controller, where the focus will be on tracking progress, ensuring compliance, and forecasting the spending for new initiatives that aim to expand production capacity. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Track the progress of new initiatives in the firm, ensuring they are on schedule and within the budget.

• Oversee compliance to ensure all projects adhere to the company's standards and regulations.

• Forecast spending for new initiatives to help with the planning and allocation of resources.

• Utilize project accounting and costing skills to maintain accurate financial records and reports.

• Work closely with the manufacturing department to understand the costs involved in expanding production capacity.

• Use Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables and use VLOOKUP to analyze data effectively.

• Create and maintain reports on the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the projects, ensuring they align with the company's objectives.

• Collaborate with multiple teams to gather information necessary for project costing.

• Handle any inquiries or issues related to project costs and provide appropriate solutions.

• Continuously improve budget processes and cost analysis methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required for managing and analyzing data.

• Demonstrated ability to manage project costs effectively and efficiently.

• Strong understanding of budget processes, including planning, tracking, and adjusting as needed.

• Proven experience in cost analysis and forecasting to ensure project costs remain within budget.

• Knowledge of steel manufacturing industry trends and cost factors is highly desirable.

• Excellent communication and reporting skills to present cost-related information to stakeholders.

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy in cost estimation and analysis.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams such as production, sales, and finance.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.

• Professional certification in Project Management or Cost Engineering is a plus.
