Litigation Attorney
Our client, a DTC-based Litigation Firm seeks a litigation associate with 3+ years of commercial litigation experience, preferably with an emphasis on insurance-related litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience investigating/defending first- and third-party claims, taking and defending depositions, drafting dispositive motions, and attending court hearings in state and federal courts. Experience drafting coverage opinions and conducting examinations under oath is a strong plus. Excellent research, writing, and independent thinking skills are essential. Candidates will have the opportunity to handle the day-to-day responsibility for all aspects of the matters on which they work, from pre-litigation analysis and client recommendations through trial and appeal. Requirements • Must hold a professional qualification in law and be a licensed attorney
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department
• Proficiency in Case Management Software, Legal software, LexisNexis, and Management System
• Experience in briefing, civil litigation, and documentation is essential
• Must have civil litigation experience, commercial litigation, complex business litigation, and complex commercial litigation
• Knowledge of construction litigation and anti-patterns will be an added advantage
• Experience in defense litigation, insurance defense litigation, litigation - defense, litigation - civil, and litigation is necessary
• Familiarity with litigation - filing, litigation attorney, litigation documents, litigation experience, litigation matters, litigation practice, litigation support, litigation - class action, litigation - management, and litigation - support software is required
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong research and report writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
• High level of professionalism and ethical standards
• Excellent negotiation and people skills.
