Global Data Privacy Manager

Our client, an international, dynamic industrial products manufacturing company is looking for a Global Data Privacy Manager to support the Legal Department at their global headquarters located in Downtown Denver. The ideal Global Data Protection Manager will be a 5 plus years’ experienced data privacy professional, with in-depth knowledge of complex data privacy requirements globally. This position will be supporting the company’s businesses and employees internationally. This is an exciting opportunity because this position will be providing sound, timely and practical advice, and risk analysis to the Chief Legal Officer. The position will be responsible for updating and implementing the company-wide data privacy program, advising on new data privacy regulations, and monitoring the company’s global data privacy compliance. Key responsibilities will include; Developing and implementing data privacy initiatives globally, in conjunction with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, CRM, Commercial Sales, Legal Compliance, Human Resources, Benefits, and Information Security teams; Driving implementation of essential elements of privacy laws, such as the principles of data processing, data subjects' rights, data protection by design and by default, records of processing activities, security of processing, and notification and communication of data breaches; Advising on daily and diverse data privacy and data handling matters, including regulatory obligations; Maintaining record of processing and a register of processing operations; Preparing data protection impact assessments and monitoring performance; Monitoring and auditing compliance with applicable data privacy regulations, and issuing recommendations; Acting as liaison between the company and applicable government data privacy authorities, as necessary; Regularly assessing processing risks; Drafting, reviewing, and updating data privacy related documents, policies and procedures; Assisting in conducting privacy by design reviews; and Preparing and delivering country and enterprise-specific training on relevant and topical data privacy issues. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, 5 plus years of experience in data privacy matters, including non-U.S. data protection issues, CIPP or other relevant IAPP certification is a plus, working knowledge and understanding of global data privacy requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PDPA, etc.), as well as related regulatory processes, ability to travel 25%, and should be COVID vaccinated.   • Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in data privacy matters, including non-U.S. data protection issues

  • CIPP or other relevant IAPP certification a plus

  • Willingness to learn and understand operational and technical matters

  • Working knowledge and understanding of global data privacy requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PDPA, etc.), as well as related regulatory processes

  • Working knowledge and understanding of data privacy best practices

  • Proven ability to spot issues, research, and use independent judgment to solve problems

  • Experience in managing data incidents and breaches

  • Proven ability to be flexible and work well independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple, competing priorities and maintaining a strong focus on detail

  • Experience with project implementation and development of policies and procedures

  • Experience managing multi-jurisdictional data privacy projects from inception to completion

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate well within all levels of an organization

  • Must have the initiative to anticipate needs, identify process improvements and provide solutions

  • Ability to analyze large sets of data and to draw conclusions

  • Team player

  • Able to travel up to 25%

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
