Description Robert Half is searching for an energetic Controller to join a reputable services company. The leadership position is responsible for an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Responsibilities
Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll Requirements - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Controllership Functions experience desired
Experience with Intercompany Accounting
Controllership experience
Foundational knowledge in Sage 100
Deep understanding of Direct Supervision
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
CPA or MBA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
