Controller - Private Equity Owned Company

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership: Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the organization, ensuring alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the private equity firm.

  • Mergers and Acquisitions: Spearhead the financial aspects of mergers and acquisitions, evaluating potential targets, conducting due diligence, and facilitating smooth integration processes.

  • Building Accounting Team: Establish and lead a high-performing accounting team to support the company's growing portfolio of real estate services. Foster a culture of excellence and collaboration within the team.

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses. Provide insights to support decision-making and enhance overall financial performance.

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. Implement effective risk management strategies to safeguard the financial interests of the organization.

  • Systems Implementation: Drive the implementation and optimization of financial systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.

  • Proven experience in a senior finance role within a private equity-owned organization.

  • Strong M& A experience, with a heavy focus on post-merger integration.

  • Public audit experience with a Big 4 firm is highly desirable.

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Strategic mindset with a focus on driving financial performance.

  • Multi-Location Industry Expertise: Utilize experience in managing finance functions in a multi-location industry to address unique challenges and opportunities associated with diverse geographies.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance and accounting functions.
