Litigation Paralegal

Our client, a leading AM Law 100 Law firm is seeking a litigation paralegal in our Denver office to assist attorneys in a range of state and federal matters. The ideal candidate will have 5plus years of litigation experience in a law firm, including case preparation from beginning to end and an understanding of a paralegal’s role in the litigation life cycle, especially product liability litigation.

Responsibilities:

Performing a broad range of substantive paralegal tasks, you’ll work directly with attorneys on product liability, premise liability and other complex business disputes in a variety of industries. You’ll maintain and monitor court deadlines for assigned cases and take ownership of case calendars; electronically file documents with the Court through the ECF system under the supervision of an attorney; perform online PACER research; and prepare drafts of pleadings, notices, and motions. Other responsibilities will allow you to prepare deposition notices (organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials, exhibits and summaries); track and manage discovery, including document productions; participate in case strategy meetings; and handle routine calls and correspondence to courts, outside attorneys, experts and clients

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position possesses well-developed critical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. You have a strong sense of accountability, take ownership over projects and responsibilities, resolve issues proactively, and know how to be a true team player. You’re a technology pro and have no problem learning new software. You utilize your paralegal expertise and keen eye for detail to further teamwork, client services, and efficiency. You are able to conduct research using various research tools, including the Internet and Westlaw. You have the ability to travel for trial when needed and flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business needs. The idea candidate will have a 2 or 4-year degree and a paralegal certificate; however, work experience may be substituted for education.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal.

• Proficient in using Aderant and Adobe Acrobat.

• Familiar with the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS).

• Experienced in using Case Management Software and CompuLaw.

• Capable of handling billing functions and briefing tasks.

• Skilled in calendar management and claim administration.

• Outstanding communication skills are essential.

• Experience in litigation as a Paralegal is required.

• Familiarity with civil litigation, commercial litigation, and complex commercial litigation.

• Experience in complex business litigation and complex litigation is a plus.
