Description
Robert Half is currently seeking a highly motivated Temporary Sales and Used Tax Compliance Analyst to join our Finance team in Des Moines. The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for ensuring overall sales, use, and similar tax compliance, reducing tax risks, and improving tax procedures.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and prepare tax returns, refunds, and ensure that the company complies with statutory tax obligations.
Coordinate and provide support to auditing inquiries related to sales and use tax.
Assist in developing and implementing improved strategies for tax processes and procedures.
Research and respond to inquiries from business units regarding sales and use tax laws and regulations.
Review and verify tax returns for accuracy, ensuring they comply with federal and state laws.
Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely filing and payment of all sales and use tax returns.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on changes in tax laws and regulations.
Conduct and monitor data related to sales tax audits.
Requirements
Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience preferred)
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiar with Spreadsheet and MS Dynamics
Comprehensive knowledge of compliance
Sales tax experience preferred
Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolve problems effectively
