Robert Half Entry-Level Accountant in Des Moines, Iowa
Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant for a company in Des Moines. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial documents, posting transactions to our accounting records, updating reports, and reconciliation of statements. You will report directly to the Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
Processing accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
Ensuring all payments and expenditures, including payroll, invoices, statements, etc., are authorized and correctly processed.
Posting financial data to appropriate accounts in an automated accounting system according to company procedures.
Assisting with monthly account reconciliations for auditing purposes.
Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred but not necessary.
Proven experience with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
Hands-on experience with relevant software such as MS Office, and databases.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
High level of accuracy and efficiency.
Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
