Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Detroit, Michigan
Description Robert Half is actively searching for a talented Accounting Clerk for a well-managed company. Serving in this role, you will be responsible for multiple forms of data entry, matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and playing an integral role in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a short-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity based in the Detroit, Michigan area.
What you get to do every single day
Organize documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Help Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
Report financial facts to journals and ledgerst
Work with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit
Produce statements and reports that require utilization of a wide range of sources Requirements - AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience suggested
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience desired
Strong familiarity with general ledger
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
