Description Robert Half is filling a Financial Analyst position for a thriving company in the Restaurants & Catering industry; skilled candidates preferred. If you want to become a key business partner in forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management, this Financial Analyst position might be the job for you! The strongest candidates for this position will be comfortable with conducting financial modeling on various financial products, as well as measuring, analyzing and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. Advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management will also be part of this position. This Financial Analyst role is a long-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity in the Detroit, Michigan, area.
Operate with key senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
Facilitate effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
Compose and oversee forecasting reports
Manage monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
Uncover the influencing factors that are driving performance and trends
Authenticate routine Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
Assess potential risks and opportunities and research performance
Adaptable individual experienced in analyzing large amounts of information and managing expectations
Support contacts in Accounting and Operations to execute business plans
Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial close process by working with Accounting
Watch over annual performance by comparing actual results to their expectations Requirements - Provide Financial Analysis experience required
Solid understanding of financial analysis
Excel Formulas experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience suggested)
Experience with financial data management processes & systems, e.g. Oracle/Hyperion/SAP Business Objects/SFDC/Tableau- Familiar with Spreadsheet and ERP system
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Strong problem-solving skills
Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
Excellent oral and written communication skills
