Description
We are seeking a PC Technician in the manufacturing industry located in Detroit, Michigan. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. The PC Technician will be primarily responsible for setting up and maintaining computer systems, ensuring they operate smoothly, and providing technical support when needed.
Responsibilities:
• Unpacking and setting up new hardware for use
• Integrating computers into the existing network domain
• Conducting preliminary tests on computers before they are dispatched to various locations
• Position and connect new computers and associated peripherals at the designated user locations
• Transferring user profiles including network printer shares, mapped network drives, desktop preferences and favorites
• Installing specific software for end users that are not included in the standard image
• Completing post-deployment checks and carrying out troubleshooting activities if required
• Demonstrating proficiency in skills such as Computer Hardware, Desktop Hardware, Hardware Installation, and MS Windows.
Requirements
• Candidate must possess solid knowledge and experience with Computer Hardware.
• Proficiency in Desktop Hardware is essential for the role.
• Experience in Hardware Installation is required.
• Applicant should be well-versed with MS Windows.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical hardware issues.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are necessary.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
• Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Relevant certification or degree in IT or related field is preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company's data privacy rules.
