Robert Half Tax Analyst in Detroit, Michigan

Description

We are looking to hire a Tax Analyst to join our client based in Detroit, Michigan. This role will involve ensuring compliance with partnership tax requirements, operational tax compliance matters, reconciliation of partner accounts for taxes paid and deducted from the partners, and managing the timely preparation of domestic tax returns.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in ensuring compliance with partnership tax requirements, including estimated tax payments, tax elections, and reporting obligations

• Assist with operational tax compliance matters, including preparation of estimated taxes, book to tax reconciliation, property tax, transfer pricing arrangements, VAT filings, etc.

• Responsible for reconciliation of partner accounts for taxes paid and deducted from the partners

• Manage the accurate and timely preparation of domestic tax returns, including proper application of taxes to the individual partner accounts

• Oversee tax-related controls and accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with requirements of local tax authorities, and operational efficiency

• Develop tax support schedules and review partner tax forms (K1) prepared by third party

• Coordinate and communicate with partners regarding key tax-related activities

• Act as primary liaison with internal Tax team as well as independent reviewers

• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts for various domestic and international tax expenses

• Coordinate in analyzing and complying with State nexus requirements

• Assist with partner accounting including equity roll-forward, departed partner capital and income schedule, and preparation of partner retirement benefits analysis

• Assist with other duties and special projects as requested

Skills:

• Knowledge and experience in Federal Tax

• Familiarity with State tax

• Understanding of Local Tax

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in Federal Tax, State Tax, and Local Tax is mandatory

• Must have a law degree from an accredited university

• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work both independently and within a team

• Knowledge of tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while working under pressure

• Up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Proven record of adherence to professional ethics and standards.
