Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Dexter, Michigan

Description Robert Half has partnered with a company in the Transportation Equipment Manufacturing field, to fill an opening for an Accounts Payable Clerk. This is an ONSITE role that is located in Dexter, Michigan. The Accounts Payable Clerk role is a long-term position. If you are immediately available and qualify based on the requirements, let's talk. Hours M - F 8:00am - 4:30pm pay up to $27/hr.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.

• Perform invoice and general-ledger data entry.

• Execute credit card and bank account reconciliation.

• Generate purchase orders when necessary.

• Obtain and print signatures on all checks.

• Assist Treasurer as needed.

• Back up the Receptionist, including phone coverage, as needed.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.

• Superb time management skills and detailed orientation.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information.

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced working knowledge of Excel preferred.

Education and Experience Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.

• At least two years of related experience required. Requirements • Must possess strong skills in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Demonstrated experience in Coding Invoices is required

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is essential

• Experience in managing Customer Accounts is desirable

• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask efficiently

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is required

• Knowledge of transportation equipment manufacturing industry is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Prior experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry is desirable.
