Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Dexter, Michigan

Description We are in the manufacturing industry and are situated in DEXTER, Michigan. We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of accounting and financial tasks, including general ledger account reconciliations, budget preparation, and financial statement analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct reconciliations of General Ledger accounts and carry out auditing tasks.

• Prepare and scrutinize budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other related accounting documents.

• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and provide monthly updates based on operating results.

• Manage bank account reconciliations.

• Oversee the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries.

• Ensure timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

• Conduct financial statement analysis and assist in the preparation of profit and loss statements, monthly closing and cost accounting reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

• Carry out standard costing and analysis tasks.

• Prepare, analyze, and process payroll.

• Oversee the annual physical inventory process, including training, auditing, and supervision.

• Manage Fixed Asset inventory and Depreciation using Fixed Asset Accounting software.

• Prepare and complete personal property tax return and file various required government reports.

• Conduct cash flow analysis.

• Manage accounts receivable, post cash receipts, resolve slow pay issues, and RMA application issues.

• Administer credit terms to customers and manage customer collections and cash applications.

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

• Oversee the accounts payable function. Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in General Ledger management and operations

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge and experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficiency in Payroll management and related tasks

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team

• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks concurrently

• Knowledge of manufacturing industry accounting practices is a plus.
