The Senior Accountant furthers the company's goals through the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, the analysis and reconciliations of accounts, and the analysis of cash flow, as well as the creation of budgets and forecasts, preparation of audits, and management of internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. To succeed in this role, you must be proficient at analyzing information. Beyond solid compensation, this full-time role comes with excellent benefits and the opportunity to grow. Located in DFW, Texas, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Service field.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP

  • Partake in various department-wide initiatives

  • Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

  • Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary

    Requirements - Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Must have excellent time management skills

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
