Robert Half Finance has a client in the Food & Food Processing industry seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic Controller to join their esteemed company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. What you get to do every day
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Requirements - CPA/MBA preferred

Detailed and have the ability work independently
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
