Robert Half Project Accountant in DFW, Texas
Robert Half has a career-building opportunity for a Staff Accountant with experience and skill to join their team on a permanent basis. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the DFW, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded.
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Microsoft Excel experience
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
