Robert Half Staff Accountant in DFW, Texas

This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the DFW, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded. This position is for candidates with the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Do you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets? You'll be preferred for this role.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

  • Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation

  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

    • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

    • Current and relevant ERP system experience

    • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

    • experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to meet deadlines

    • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

    • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

    • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

    • Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

    • Recent and relevant accounting experience

    • Great attention to detail
