Robert Half Director of Accounting in Downey, California

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Accounting in Downey, California in the retail clothes and accessory industry. This role will be responsible for overseeing full-cycle accounting processes and costs, with a focus on ecommerce and retail.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full cycle of accounting functions to ensure financial accuracy and transparency

• Manage all accounts payable and receivable activities

• Lead auditing processes to identify and rectify discrepancies

• Develop and implement budget processes, with a focus on optimizing costs

• Utilize accounting software systems and ERP for efficient financial management

• Coordinate with public accounting firms to ensure compliance with industry standards

• Oversee the financial aspects of the company's ecommerce platform

• Manage a team of accounting professionals to achieve departmental and organizational objectives

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes to accounting laws and regulations

• Collaborate with other departments to provide accurate financial reporting and strategic planning. Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role within the retail industry, preferably in clothes and accessories sector.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services.

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Ability to manage and oversee all accounting functions.

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Knowledge and experience in auditing procedures.

• Proven track record in managing budget processes.

• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification such as CPA is preferred.

• Must meet all legal eligibility requirements to work in the location of the job.
