ACCOUNTING MANAGER - FIXED ASSETS, INVENTORY AND PAYROLL

You might be a good fit for this position if you can lead daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting with a focus on fixed assets, payroll, and inventory accounting. This role's duties will require the ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations. This Accounting Manager position is a terrific opportunity for permanent employment that is located in the Duluth, Georgia area.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the tracking and management of fixed assets, ensuring accurate recording, depreciation, and disposal processes.
Conduct regular audits to verify the integrity of fixed assets data and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and record capital expenditures.
Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including accurate calculation of wages, taxes, and other deductions.
Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Collaborate with Human Resources to address payroll-related inquiries and implement improvements.
Oversee the accounting for inventory transactions, including valuation, reconciliation, and reporting.
Implement and maintain effective controls to safeguard inventory assets.
Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate recording of inventory movements.
Conduct periodic inventory audits to validate accuracy and identify variances.
Prepare and analyze financial statements related to fixed assets, payroll, and inventory.
Provide insightful commentary and variance analysis to support decision-making.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements in fixed assets, payroll, and inventory accounting.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.
Proven experience 8+ in accounting with a focus on fixed assets, payroll, and inventory.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
Experience with Sage 100 accounting software is ideal.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and mentor a team.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
