Robert Half International Financial Reporting Manager in Durham, North Carolina

Description

Local Biotech company is seeking a long-term temporary Financial Reporting Manager for a 7 month+ engagement. This role can be 100% remote and is a long-term temporary position. This is a highly visible position that will interact with all levels of the business, including the senior leadership team. The position will report to the VP, Corporate Controller and be responsible for all areas of SEC reporting, governance, technical accounting issues and internal controls over financial reporting.

Accountable for all financial reporting needs of the Company, including the following:

  • Prepare all financial statements and footnote disclosures.

  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and lead sheets.

  • Prepare all SEC filing including 10K/Q’s, 8K’s and definitive proxy statement filings.

  • Manage review of these documents by legal and external auditors.

Oversee and maintain compliance with governance policies and procedures as a public company, including

  • Identification, preparation, coordination of legal review, and filing of Form 8-K events. Certain missed 8-K filings result in disqualification of S-3 financing availability.

  • Audit Committee meeting preparation, including slide decks, AC resolutions, and auditor preclearance procedures.

  • Related Party Transaction policy compliance, including identification of related parties and monitoring of new and existing relationships.

Manage all equity compensation plans, training employees, and maintaining relationship with transfer agent, broker, and equity management firms.

Manage stock compensation software to ensure completeness of equity data within the system and accuracy of data output.

Manage technical accounting research on complex accounting issues whether internally or utilizing external advisors.

Requirements

Qualification requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent training and experience

  • Public accounting experience with five years of private industry experience, preferably in the biopharma industry.

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to research, design and document technical accounting issues.

  • Excellent MS WORD and EXCEL skills

  • Proficient knowledge of U.S. GAAP

  • Familiarity with NetSuite ERP (preferred)
