Robert Half Intake Specialist in Durham, North Carolina

Description We are looking to bring on board an Intake Specialist in Durham, North Carolina. The primary function of this role will be to process a variety of requests, inquiries, and transactions via different mediums. This role will also involve providing support to internal and external customers, maintaining and updating service requests, and performing data analysis tasks. The position is a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Processing requests, inquiries, and transactions received via phone, email, fax, and mail in an accurate and timely manner

• Reviewing requests for accuracy, and conducting research when necessary

• Assisting both internal and external customers via phone or email, ensuring a high level of professionalism at all times

• Documenting all pertinent information related to calls or inquiries, and routing to appropriate areas for follow-up when resolution cannot be immediately provided

• Gathering and analyzing data to provide feedback on employee development needs and/or specific providers requiring education on prior approval or pre-certification processes

• Screening inquiries to determine if authorization is required and verifying member benefits and eligibility and/or provider setup

• Triaging and assigning all incoming inquiries in an efficient manner throughout the day to appropriate staff

• Performing peer audits monthly as required

• Providing clinical review outcome notification to members and providers, both verbally and in writing. Requirements • Proficiency in answering inbound calls and providing top-notch call center customer service.

• Strong research skills and the ability to ensure accuracy in all tasks.

• Experience with planning processes, review, and auditing.

• Understanding of hiring processes and benefits functions.

• Ability to handle missing invoices and communicate with appropriate personnel.

• Knowledge of Healthcare.gov and authorizations within a healthcare setting.

• Experience in data analysis and financial notes.

• Familiarity with fax machines and other office equipment.

• Ability to triage and manage service requests effectively.

• Background in behavioral health and clinical review is a plus.

• Ability to interact professionally with external customers.

• Experience in attendance and time management.

• Proficiency in using software for service request management.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.

• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

• High school diploma or equivalent required, higher education or related certifications are a plus.
