Description
We are seeking a diligent Project Accountant based in Durham, North Carolina. As a Project Accountant, you will be expected to handle complex journal entries, manage intercompany activities, and prepare consolidated financial statements. This position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the accurate and efficient processing of complex journal entries covering various areas including cash, prepaids, accrued expenses, deferred revenue, leases, debt, interest rate swaps, and operating expenses and revenues.
• Oversee inter-company activities, including the recording and reconciliation of inter-company payables, receivables, investments, and lease payments.
• Conduct reconciliations for Balance Sheet related accounts.
• Administer the preparation and flow of weekly payment requests for funds.
• Run ad hoc analysis and provide additional details as needed.
• Understand and record eliminating journal entries for intercompany activities and prepare consolidated financial statements for various stakeholders.
• Create and review various reports including but not limited to net cash flow and debt service coverage ratios.
• Prepare annual audited financial statements and footnotes, and liaise with independent auditors to provide support for the annual audit process.
• Carry out various other duties as delegated by the Accounting Manager.
Requirements
• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Demonstrated experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.
• Well-versed in managing General Ledger.
• Proficient in recording Journal Entries.
• Demonstrated experience in executing Month End Close procedures.
• Proficiency in using NetSuite accounting software preferred
• Experience in Lease Accounting is preferred
• Knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting is preferred
