Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Credit Analyst based in Durham, North Carolina. This role offers the chance to work within the telecom provider sector, supporting large group underwriting. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing books of business, applying data analytics, and making underwriting recommendations while also acting as a subject matter expert for the department.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Books of Business with a large number of members and significant premium or premium equivalent.

• Apply data analytics across book of business to identify trends or patterns and take corrective action as required.

• Make underwriting recommendations to underwriters and associate underwriters.

• Manage and report monthly and YTD on all assigned financial and performance metrics.

• Develop and produce ad hoc reports.

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the Department regarding their Business Segment and Corporate Projects.

• Analyze underwriting risk and determine premium rates for fully insured contracts.

• Utilize technical expertise to make recommendations regarding benefit plan design, stop loss levels, network feasibility, and funding options to internal and external customers.

• Actively participate in final rate negotiations and presentations with large clients.

• Recommend underwriting process and system changes resulting in enhanced productivity.

• Coach less experienced underwriters on matters related to risk selection and mitigation, data analytics, and integrated goal management. Requirements • Possess a deep understanding of credit analysis principles and practices

• Ability to design, negotiate, and manage contracts

• Proven experience in underwriting

• Proficiency in data analytics and ability to identify patterns and trends

• Strong sales skills and experience in training others in sales techniques

• Demonstrated knowledge of policies related to credit analysis

• Experience in giving presentations to both internal teams and external customers

• Ability to provide workstation support and manage benefit functions

• Knowledge of hiring processes

• Capability to perform ad hoc financial tasks and generate ad hoc reports

• Strong negotiation skills and a track record of driving productivity

• Understanding of property-related matters in the context of credit analysis

• Experience in preparing financial notes and KPI reporting

• Proven ability in risk mitigation and implementing corrective action when necessary

• Ability to serve as a subject matter expert in the field of credit analysis.
