We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant based in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. This role involves implementing cost accounting procedures and methods, preparing and analyzing cost reports and audits, and ensuring correct allocation of cost data. The Cost Accountant will also evaluate manufacturing standard cost variances, product profitability, and other cost initiatives, while collaborating with the accounting team for monthly closures.

Responsibilities:

• Implement cost accounting procedures and methods

• Prepare and analyze cost reports and audits

• Ensure correct allocation of cost data

• Evaluate manufacturing standard cost variances and product profitability

• Collaborate with production and supporting departments to ensure food safety and quality

• Streamline and standardize reporting for operational metrics

• Take responsibility for the budget process for standard costs, new item costs evaluation, and ongoing reporting against appropriate metrics

• Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies, and report on variances and their causes

• Prepare inventory and cost accounting entries and account reconciliations

• Support the Finance and Operations organization through accurate recording, monitoring, reporting, and analysis of operational results

• Provide recommendations for process improvements and assist in implementation of changes to improve the quality of financial information

• Partner with Operations/Supply Chain to identify inventory at-risk of obsolescence and potential excess; assist in disposal of obsolete inventory as needed

• Conduct thorough financial analyses to assess the impact of continuous improvement initiatives on operations costs and overall financial performance

• Drive cross-functional behavior to meet planned cost expenditures

• Lead the development of annual standard costs and manufacturing budgets including materials, labor, and overhead rates

• Provide financial support and training to the Plant Managers and Operations Team, as well as periodic reporting to drive factory cost reductions and accountability to responsible department managers

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required for efficient management of financial data.

• Mastery of Epicor software to manage business operations and resources.

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning to manage and integrate the essential parts of the business.

• Understanding of Budget Processes to plan and control the company's finances.

• Experience with Annual Standard Cost to ensure accuracy and relevance of cost data.

• Capability to handle Month End Close activities to finalize the company's financial records.

• Proficiency in managing Profit and Loss accounts to monitor the company's financial health.

• Experience with KPI Reporting for tracking the progress of the company against its business objectives.
