Robert Half Sr. Accountant in EAST DUNDEE, Illinois

Description This role prepares and consolidates financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts, analyzes cash flow, creates budgets and forecasts, prepares audits, and manages internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting to attain company goals. This position requires top-notch analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent compensation is just part of the package. What you get to do every day

  • Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

  • Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required

  • Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives

  • Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner

  • Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process Requirements - Knowledge of construction project accounting

  • Construction Projects experience desired

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Efficient in ERP systems

  • 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Able to manage time well

  • SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
