Robert Half Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst in EAST GRANBY, Connecticut

Description The Business Intelligence Analyst is expected to create process improvement in all departments in conjunction with the

responsible department individuals through the creation of meaningful and actionable visualizations using Microsoft’s

suite of BI and database tools. As a member of a small team, this individual will be a critical technical resource

supporting all levels and departments within the company

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing assistance for Power BI, including training, problem-solving, and clarifying data within reports.

• Importing data into the database from user-submitted files.

• Creating queries for generating reports or extracting data to Excel files.

• Addressing data irregularities in the SQL database, such as incorrect Customer ID assignments, to ensure data

accuracy.

• Import data into tables within the production database for Technician Hours and HR Training.

• Update the new shipment forecast dates by uploading data to the BOLT environment.

• Grant new users access to the reporting server.

• Hold meetings with the CFO and IT team to provide project updates and status reports.

• Refresh all web-based Power BI files, comprising 20 reports.

• Schedule meetings with users to discuss and gather requirements for new Power BI report requests.

• Manage Reports (approximately 60 Power BI reports published to the shared drive) by regularly refreshing them,

updating queries, and maintaining connections.

• Update and maintain SSRS Reports

Current Projects:

• Automate the tracking of Top Level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) currently managed in an Excel

spreadsheet.

• Develop a web-based maintenance interface that connects to SQL databases.

• Work on updating and integrating the new fiscal year into existing reports and future reporting.

• Incorporate new fields requested by users into existing reports to streamline their manual processes.

• Maintain and enhance the Sales Dashboard for the Leadership team.

• Automate manual processes for the Sales, Finance, HR, and Service teams.

• Enhance the GP system by integrating fields created with an extension (Extender) to enable more detailed

reporting that are not readily available in the system

Skills and Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity

• Proficiency with writing T-SQL and familiarity with SQL databases

Understanding of database relationships and table structures

• Experience with Power BI, DAX, and Power Query Editor

• Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

• Experience with Excel

• Experience with uploading data into SQL tables

• Understanding and monitoring of SQL database replicatioon

• Experience with CRM and customized software programs on CRM (i.e. BOLT)
