Description We are looking for a meticulous Patent Agent to join our team in the Aerospace industry, located in East Hartford, Connecticut. This role involves the management of the client's patent prosecution docket, assisting in patent litigation cases, and working in collaboration with paralegals and attorneys. This role also requires excellent technical writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to conduct complex patenting research.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the client's patent prosecution docket ensuring all applications are processed effectively.
• Collaborate with IP counsels in drafting patents and managing the prosecution side of the patent.
• Liaise with outside counsel and assist in managing patent litigation cases ensuring all cases are handled professionally and efficiently.
• Conduct complex patenting research to provide insightful and accurate information.
• Maintain strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Use patent search databases and patent application methods to facilitate the patenting process.
• Utilize ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, Management System, McKesson, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites to perform job functions effectively.
• Handle Authorizations, Billing Functions, Claim Administration, and Complaint Handling in a professional and efficient manner.
• Conduct USPTO Filings, USPTO Searches, Patent Preparation, and Patent Prosecution as required.
• Manage TM - Database & Electronic Docketing and Intellectual Property - Patent tasks effectively and efficiently. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Patent Agent in the Aerospace industry
• Proficient in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, Management System, and McKesson
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites
• Experience in Authorizations, Billing Functions, and Claim Administration
• Excellent Communication skills and experience in Complaint Handling
• Expertise in USPTO Filings, USPTO Searches, Patent Preparation, and Patent Prosecution
• Proficient in TM - Database & Electronic Docketing
• Must have a solid understanding of Intellectual Property - Patent laws and regulations
• Must have a degree in Law, Engineering, or related field
• Possession of a license to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks at once
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
